About Us

The idea of our online aquarium site has its humble beginnings behind the counter of
an organic supermarket. It was January of 2000 when I was an attendant behind the
coffee section of Huckleberry Organic Supermarket when a regular customer approached
me asking for his usual coffee, double shot latte.

I knew this customer quite well but for some odd reason I did not notice that he
worked for an aquarium maintenance company. Anyway, we got talking and some how our
conversation ended up with him handing me a Black More in a water filled bag. His
exact words were “these will go great with your two gold fish”. At that time I had
owned a plain glass aquarium with just two gold fishes, nothing fancy at all.

My children at that time loved our humble fish tank and I knew bringing home a Black
More to add to our tank would be a pleasant surprise for them. Just as I anticipated
my children were absolutely thrilled to see another fish species in our tank. My 5
year old daughter’s words were “that ugly black fish is so fat, but I love him”. It
was nice to come home and enjoy the therapeutic moments spent around our aquarium as
a family.

Nine years has since past and our love for aquariums and fishes have grown
tremendously from what was a hobby to what is now our passion. Currently we have
custom made 150 gallon acrylic salt water tank with over 20 different marine
species. Even though our aquariums have become more eccentric, we still have our
original fresh water glass tank.

Fish keeping for us has brought us a lot of happiness to our family. Sharing our
experience and expertise with people is what we are all about and this site is
dedicated to all fish keepers who share the same passion. Our online site is fairly
new but we aim to give our viewers the best possible information we can on aquariums
