Angelfish for Your Aquarium

The angel fish is definitely one of most attractive and unique species of fishes to add to your aquarium collection. The most common type of angel fish seen in most aquariums is the P. Scalare. It has become so common that there is a great number of wild and cross-bred species to choose from.

Discussed briefly below are a few of the varieties of the most popular types of angel fish.

The Silver Angelfish

This is one species of angel fish and is known to belong to a wilder variety. Not containing any type of dominant color genes, the silver angelfish has four vertical black strips running down its silver back. These stripes usually fade or darken depending on the mood of the fish. When the silver angelfish is stressed the stripes fade when it is excited it darkens. This is true especially during breeding season when the stripes are usually at its darkest.



Gold Angelfish

One of the most attractive and hardiest strains the gold angel fish is exceptional too see. Gold in color this type of fish is capable of developing an intense orange crown. This feature only adds to its natural beauty making it one of the favorites. However, the gold color on this species of fish is a recessive trait.

Black Lace Angelfish

The black angel fish like the silver fish has only one copy of the Dark gene. The dark gene is seen on its pin stripped fins making it a delightful site in the water. This species of angel fish is also considered to be a personal favorite by many.

Sunset Blushing

This sunset blushing is easy to tell apart from the rest of it brothers due of its prominent orange tints on the upper half of its body. The body it mostly white in color but some display a pinkish or tangerine shade. The phrase blushing comes from its pink gills which can be seen clearly under water.

Albino

This variety of angelfish has no dark coloring. Some variety belonging to this group is the Albino Marble. A very small faction of them may have a touch of black still noticeable on the body however most of them are colorless. Moreover the pupils in their eyes are just as pink as all other albino animals making them quite unique to see.
